Run through time on the legendary Incense Road, where you can encounter open-air galleries of deep history and living memory, with the art of ancient people and architectural monuments exhibited in its landscape. An adventure unlike any other!

The trail will pass by main landmarks in AlUla such as Hegra UNESCO Wolrd Heritage Site, Maraya and Elephant Rock.

The start time will be at Sahary Resort at 6:00 am for the 80km.

The Cut Off time at the finish in Hegra will be at 6:30 pm (12h30 of running time).

There will be an aid station approx every 10km, 8 in total (km 10, km 20, km 30, km 40, km 50, km 60, km 70, km 75, and at the finish Line)

The Prizes Ceremony will be at 5:00 pm. (To be confirmed)

CUT OFF TIMES 80KM
-Intermediate cut-off times at various aid stations will be communicated in due course
-Finish Closure: 6h30 

DROP BAG SERVICE
-Participants of all race coategories can benefit from a drop-bag/clothes deposit service. At the latest 15minutes before the start, runers shall bring their drop bag at the designated tent at the start venue of their race

AID STATIONS

• Approx every 10 km

• Contents:

  • Water
  • Isotonic drink/energy
  • Pepsi/Miranda/Seven Up at LAST aid station before finish
  • Fruit (water melon, orange, sugar melon, banana)
  • Nuts: salted cashew nuts, salted almonds
  • Cookie or cake
  • Arabic bread + Peach jam/Kiri cheese at 2 Aid stations for 83K and 1 Aid station for 45K
  • Hot Tea at 1st Aid station of 83K
  • Local culture: dates/ tahini + Arabic coffee

 

Mandatory Equipment

• Head lamp + spare battery
• Hydration Bag / Belt including bottles with at least 1 liter of water/fluid
 • Snack / Energy Gels / Energy or cereal bar (at least 2 of these 3)
• Smartphone with local SIM card (recommended local provider: STC)
• GPX file of race route downloaded on your personal smartphone
• Waste Bag
• Personal water cup (we will not provide cups at Aid Stations (AS) in the principle of protecting the environment and to have NO garbage in the trail)
• Rain jacket (not often, but it can actually rain hard in Al Ula this time of year!)
• Emergency blanket
• Athletes are required to wear long tights/running pants
